Hit a slow patch in my research. I would have had stuff to do in the lab, but I hurt my leg and had to stay at home to recover. So I don't really know what I'm supposed to be doing now. More thorough literature review and writing, I guess.

Hey physicists! Researchers! Students! Wash your coffee cup. And while you're at it, your water bottle too! Do it properly, with hot water!
Another day in experimental physics! Today I had a side quest: I took apart a glass cutter to see if we can replace the dull tip with a new one. The tip came off quite easily and it was fun figuring out how everything is attached. Now to find where we can get replacements...
Glass, especially glass with a conductive coating, is often used as a substrate for making samples, so we have a glass scoring tool in the lab for cutting bigger pieces to size.

Went on a cycling trip yesterday! The bog was a bit smelly on a hot day but very pretty from the birdwatching tower. We saw a heron!
And this weekend I attended a "Really Important and Serious Anniversary Seminar" of a fictional magical university! The made up research presentations were awesome and engaged the audience to ask good questions. I pretended to be a "mathemagician" in my question.
Now onto my own research again, even though it's still too hot to work... at least the windowless lab stays cool.
Today I'm writing my thesis! I've got the first draft of the introduction and now I'm deriving some equations for theory section. I have 13 pages, of which three are actual content! Still four and a half months to go, aim is 40-60 pages.

Slow period is over and research intensifies! I gave an informal midterm presentation to my supervisor and now I have a concrete plan for my experiments. Make samples, take measurements, analyse results and write about it, and my thesis is done!
