Oh, on a wire, we were dancing
Two kids, no consequences
A ten year old you angrily knocked on Michaelâs bedroom door, not even bothering to wait for an answer before you barged in. He did leave you alone in English which Calum didnât have with you either after all. But only to see Michael focused on his Nintendo.
âMichael! Michael! Why werenât you at school today?â You asked him, frowning. He shrugged and stuck out his tongue.
âIâm sick see?â He said, waggling his tongue at you. You wrinkled your face and pushed his face away.
âThatâs so gross Michael ewww!â
âReally?â He asked eagerly waggling his tongue even faster.
âYou look like a crazy dog.â That stopped him immediately.
Pull the trigger, without thinking
Thereâs only one way down this road
It was your first boy- girl party. You were twelve and this was a pretty big deal so naturally, you and Calum wouldnât go if Michael couldnât go. Luckily, the girl whoâs party it was had a huge crush of Calum and quickly extended the invitation to Michael.
And now here you were frowning at Michael talking to Luke Hemmings out of all the people instead of you.
âY/n you should just tell him.â A voice said, making you jump and turn around quickly.
âCalum donât scare me like that!â You cried, clutching your chest. Calum grinned at you.
âYou should tell Mikey you like like him.â
âI donât like like him! Thatâs so weird Calum heâs my best friend thatâs just gross okay?â You insisted, making a disgusted face.
âItâs true!â You protested, but when you realized he wouldnât budge you huffed and walked away.
But you just couldnât get rid of those words from your head, could you?
Well thereâs no way out of this
So letâs stay in
You stood by the wall silently drinking from a can of Coke, unlike the class mates around you. Glaring at Michaelâs back who was in an animated conversation with Luke. It had been a week since Michael called you clingy and threw away fifteen years of friendship.
âYou should really tell him you know.â A voice said from behind you, didnât have to turn around to know who it was.
âI donât know what youâre talking about Calum.â You replied stubbornly.
âHe misses you Y/n and I miss you too.â Calum said, ignoring your reply.
âHe called me a clingy bitch.â You snapped.
âYou called Luke an asshole.â Calum retaliated.
âLuke isnât even his best friend! I am! How could he choose him over me? It wasnât Luke who he kept setting up it was me!â
âYou know thatâs because we got a new member Y/n. We had to hold practices!âÂ
âDonât-â You began to say when someone cut you off.
âHey! Hey Y/n, do you want a drink?â A boy slurred. You could feel Michaelâs eyes on you as you nodded.
And if I have to pull you out of the wreckage
You know Iâm never gonna let you go
âY/n, listen I donât think you should date him.â Michael said hurriedly, as you waited outside Biology. It was two weeks after the party. The boy who offered you a drink was the same boy who had asked you out on a date.
âYou have no right to tell me who to date.â You hissed.
âHeâs not a good guy!â Michael burst out.
âI donât see why you care.âÂ
âBecause- because I like you! I canât see you with him or anyone else.â Michael snapped. He took in your shocked face and added. âForget I said anything.â Before hurrying away.
Got your heart in my hands, like a time bomb ticking
We should know better,
But we wonât let go
âMichael, what the hell is this?â You asked, pushing your phone upto the tv screen.Â
âWho is she?â You demanded, pointing at the picture of him and some girl sitting on the arm rest of his chair at a club that the Hollywood reporter was talking about. Michaelâs image scattered a little before he answered.
âSheâs Kellinâs wife. They cropped out the part where I was sitting on Kellinâs lap.â Michael mumbled sleepily, it was  pretty late in Germany after all. You let out a relieved sigh.Â
âOh my god, do I need to be worried about Kellin?â You joked, Michael laughed before replying.
âNo but maybe about Calum.â He said mock serious.
âOh he better be sleeping with one eye open then.â You answered in the same tone before breaking into a fit of giggles.
Baby, weâre like a time bomb
But I need it
Wouldnât have it any other way
