The Alan Parsons Project fused both pop and progressive rock into an incredible sonic melange on all of their records, though they perfected this from Eye In The Sky on. The follow-up to the latter, Ammonia Avenue, continued with that, the record remains one of their biggest sellers. Then again, this shouldn't shock us, Alan Parsons and Eric Woolfson found out where they're great at and they used this to their advantage. I mean, the single in the link updates the Wall Of Sound for the 80's with the flourishes that can be located within the idiom of progressive rock. However, you are correct this wouldn't matter, if the tune sucked, but that's not the case. The composition proves yet again Parsons and Woolfson are two of the most underappreciated songwriters.
