Nerd and Jock story / AU prompt I thought of in the shower:
Popular jock makes fun of an unpopular nerd and the nerd overhears
The nerd comebacks under their breath, not knowing the jock group heard them
The jock group being like âOOOOOHâ and the jock wanting to throw hands
The jock thinks âwait, if I become their friends, Iâll be able to comeback roasts and insults better, their comeback was really good and thought of so quicklyâ
The nerd thinking âwow, that couldâve really backfired, I should learn some self defence- maybe I could learn from them how to?â
Them getting each otherâs numbers through their groups of friends
Them getting to know each other
They meet up somewhere outside of school and the jock and nerd gradually learn how to throw hands and pass tests / spit smart and powerful comebacks (bonus if the jock was one of those people who skipped school and didnât really care about learning until they met the nerd and theyâre like âlearningâs not all too bad now,â and the nerd slowly comes out of their shell to learn âwoah, I can do this sport if I really try and it doesnât really matter if I canât do it that right, Iâm better than how I used to playâ)
Their groups of friends seeing how well they work together and few weeks / months later, senses some mutual pining
Theyâre convinced to confess to each other and become the schoolâs ultimate power couple and will throw hands verbally or physically if you talk shit about them or others
I donât know why I like this idea so much, itâs just the thought of twisting up the âI hate u nerdâ and âI hate jocksâ stereotyped prompts and thinking they could work together and teach each other how to live.
