Stringtronics | Album: Mindbender
This album is a masterpiece. Really. Super double-time extra more.
Why? Because when you listen to it you feel that nice craze in the corner of your brain and at the same time your heart is jumping.
Itās hard to categorize this music because there are a lot of differentĀ genres in it. Some refer to it asĀ ālibrary musicā which means records created for tv-productions etc. But this album is way more. Thereās heart in it. Iām sure everybody involved in the making of it loved itĀ closely. First time iĀ stumbledĀ upon this one i heard it at least 8 times straight. This album is like a journey, you imagine with it complete worlds. Some might sayĀ āhey i can hear The Snow-GooseāĀ āi hear Zelda!ā. Well, Snow-Goose was released in 75ā² and ZeldaĀ in 86ā², Mindbender was originally released in 72ā². Ha!! (you might hear āMoondanceā as well).
Conspiracy theory: All good music after 72ā² was copied from this album!
Itās just superĀ revolutionary, the sound comes from all over. But they keep a clear musical thread all through the album.Ā ItāsĀ psychedelic, jazzy, early-staged electronic,Ā chanson,Ā poppy,Ā groovy, funky, funny, what else... Soundtrack to your individual emotions. Fuck, it is really incredible. I mean, listen to minute 24:00. Itās like this awesome fun western movie but then it becomes something else at 24:49!Ā āThe quest of OH YEAHH!!!ā
Well, I like this album. You should listen to it if you like music. It is really a Mindbender.
