Stringtronics | Album: Mindbender
This album is a masterpiece. Really. Super double-time extra more.
Why? Because when you listen to it you feel that nice craze in the corner of your brain and at the same time your heart is jumping.
Itâs hard to categorize this music because there are a lot of different genres in it. Some refer to it as âlibrary musicâ which means records created for tv-productions etc. But this album is way more. Thereâs heart in it. Iâm sure everybody involved in the making of it loved it closely. First time i stumbled upon this one i heard it at least 8 times straight. This album is like a journey, you imagine with it complete worlds. Some might say âhey i can hear The Snow-Gooseâ âi hear Zelda!â. Well, Snow-Goose was released in 75Ⲡand Zelda in 86â˛, Mindbender was originally released in 72â˛. Ha!! (you might hear âMoondanceâ as well).
Conspiracy theory: All good music after 72Ⲡwas copied from this album!
Itâs just super revolutionary, the sound comes from all over. But they keep a clear musical thread all through the album. Itâs psychedelic, jazzy, early-staged electronic, chanson, poppy, groovy, funky, funny, what else... Soundtrack to your individual emotions. Fuck, it is really incredible. I mean, listen to minute 24:00. Itâs like this awesome fun western movie but then it becomes something else at 24:49! âThe quest of OH YEAHH!!!â
Well, I like this album. You should listen to it if you like music. It is really a Mindbender.
P.s. - 09.01.17 -  Just found Mindbender sampled here - 17:55 (Barry Forgie - Dawn Mists) appear at 19:04 and prior (Rampue - Katz und Maus)!
