Boil water with salt and oil. Add water to rice flour, mix well and knead into soft dough. Grease palms while doing so. Keep water for boiling in steamer. Grease banana leaves/ idli plates with oil. Using Idiyappam press/mold, shape portions of dough into noodles over them. Sprinkle coconut over each. Steam on medium-low flame for 8 minutes or till cooked. Your Idiyappam.
