Page 15. --- Masters Accept Men’s Proposal for $20 and Half Over $31 ‘Takings’ --- The strike of Ottawa barbers which has existed for nearly two weeks is settled, if the men today ratify what it is claimed to have been their officer - $20 per week salary and half over $31 of the ‘takings’ - to the Master Barbers’ Association, which, at the ‘bosses’ meeting last night, was accepted.

It is likely the men will stand by the terms accepted by the Masters. Last night the Masters stated they had been given the word of A. A. Aubrey, secretary of the union, that the above mentioned terms would be acceptable to the men now on strike. The master’s accepted the proposition, and they stated it was now up to the men to ratify it, and return to work in their shops this afternoon.

Word of the acceptable of the proposal by the masters was conveyed to the men, and upon receipt, it was expected that a general meeting of the men would be called for this morning, for the purpose of ratifying the proposal.

The masters, in addition to announcing, that they had decided to accept the terms of $20 salary per week with half of the ‘takings’ over $31, said there were still twenty shops of the association which had not signed the new agreement, discounting the three shops which signed yesterday as not having been members of the Masters’ Association.
