I decided to join the harvesttales challenge this month. I´m using the prompt list from Nadia Rausa Check out her amazing work! This weeks prompt is "flowers and herbs". Apparently in France they have issues with people entering the Lavender fields to take Instagram "worthy" pictures and destroying the flowers in the process. In the Netherlands we had a similar problem with our tulips fields. But since Lavender is a flower and a herb... No flowers were harmed for the creation of this image ;)

Time to share some of my work progress. Starting at this painting I knew that I wanted a black mermaid with glowing eyes against a light background. Looking for a strong silhouette I started with a more seductive pose. You can see me struggle with it for a bit.

A little sneak peek. After working on anatomy and backgrounds. I really felt the need to go back to a portrait. She's still not done. I'm pondering, should I respect the power of the dark empty space or ad more betta's or a hand as an emotional gesture... Hmmm... discissions...⠀
