He's an egotistical asshole who looks down and belittles those around him- but sharing his love for hatred is more than enough fulfillment Strife Kyle is not supposed to be the opposite of Cupid Me’s lovesick spirit- after all, “the opposite of love is apathy, fatass!” This doesn't mean both sides don't argue- they both think they're always in the right (Cartman is experiencing insane levels of hallucination beyond hippie years.)

They’re genuinely in love, they just express it in entirely different and sometimes contradictory ways. One moment they’re acting like a stereotypical obnoxious couple and getting under Cartman's skin, and the next they’re arguing like it’s their natural state.

It’s unstable, intense, and not exactly healthy, but that’s the point. Their relationship reflects Cartman and Kyle’s canon emotional confusion :3 It's sorta a play at the fact they're opposites, it has them in their weird push-and-pull dynamic where affection and conflict blur into the same thing. One thrives on softness, the other on friction, but both of them also happen to thrive on the other's existence.

AHH no such thing as a dumb question, anon! It's understandable to be confused on how they're meant to be (allow me to explain :3)

Strife Kyle is this form of, um, love that's on the opposite spectrum of love, while Cupid Me is all across on the opposite side. They're both representations of love; however, they're different types of expressed love.

It's kind of how Cupid Me's love is so lovey-dovey, but Stife Kyle's is more warranted to be aggressive, teasing, and challenging (and could be seen as "hateful" by the everyday person.) It's love expressed through conflict instead of affection. :^ (Basically, in simple terms that are easily digestible: ragebaiting for love, or bullying and being mean for attention. This isn't something Kyle himself actively does- but it's what Cartman's psyche perceives out of their relationship. Cupid Me's love is more cheesy and traditional; it's romantic and much more straightforward. This can't be said the same for Strife Kyle, though. HIS care shows up as arguing, challenging, refusing to disengage, etc. Again, it has to do with Cartman himself and how he perceives his relationship with Kyle. He doesn't believe Kyle hates him because if he did he wouldnt bother with him- yk?

So he sees Kyle as loving and caring for him hastily, which is projected through arguments; hence, why Strife Kyle exists in his head.

Both Cupid Me and Strife Kyle are still love, just on opposite ends of the spectrum. One is gentle, the other is volatile, and either can turn toxic without balance. That’s how I view love in Kyman. Hope this helped clear up the relationship play heheheh <3
