this chapter involves very heavy overhanded themes of the harm that cops do and how they’re a threat to enforce the status quo etc etc and it feels like i’m walking a tightrope to express reality while also not decimated james’s character and also while not getting boring or preachy and it is tricky!!! and on top of that, this is the longest chapter of hlh to date before any editing at all, and i always always add in the first edit so it’s just gonna get longer. so every time i open the chapter i get a lil anxious because i’m worried about fucking this up bc i know i’m gonna lose readers no matter what, but i’d rather not lose people who actually agree w me by executing this poorly lmao
