I love and loathe the nights.

Winter brings them more and more,

Gentle darkness blanketing,

But go outside and squint your eyes,

A million lights will pierce them otherwise.

Car lights, bike light, overly bright led's

My eyes sting everytime.

I cycle places I routinely go

And squint my eyes to go safely.

It's meant to be dark; it's night,

But somewhere we vetoed that.

It's gone to suspicions of crimes,

Attempts to fight it at all,

And trying to see further

Uncaring that we blind those coming towards us.

I love the nights in nature, dark,

Only lit by the stars or a small torch

And loathe the nights in cities,

Eyes stinging from needlessly bright lights.

Sreetlights plays an essential role in our environment. According to annual global road crash statistics,there are over 1.3 million people who died due to road crashes everyday which means approximately 3,287 deaths per day. Additional to this, there are also huge fatalities that have occurred at nigh­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­t because of low visibility and poor street lights. 

Can you imagine how dangerous it is and still some streets and places don’t prioritize and look at this as an important matter. I am here to promote my own website titled “ Ilaw para sa Liwanag na Tanglaw” which means streetlight for a better view. This webpage helps areas all over the country and can be contacted through the link below. The webpage also promotes that streetlights are important and should be implemented everywhere.
