Day 1 - Why do you ship them?

I could write a 10 page essay on this subject but let's keep it short. I ship them because of... everything that evolves around them. Their history. From instant rejection, to common friends, to friends, to best friends and maybe something more in the future. Their journey has been handled well. You can see how much they have grown together and apart from that pilot. At this point, they are there for each other no matter what, they trust each other, they rely on each other, they care for each other. You can't ask for a better friendship than this, specially on the chaotic world of TVD.

They are simple yet complex. They mirror each other in a lot of things. Both suffered from compulsion, rejection from their parents, blood lust, guilt but also the will to do the right thing, to try and keep up no matter what. And they are also polar opposites. You have the broody, 150 year-old vampire and the bubbly, care-free vampire barbie. She makes him actually laugh while he grounds her. They just... complete each other. That's why I ship them :)
