The Mandela Catalogue (2021-Present) The Mandela Catalogue is an Analog Horror Web Video series created by Alex Kister in 2021.

The series takes place in a world where a mysterious being (implied to be Satan) has taken the form of the Archangel Gabriel and then unleashed Alternates, shape-shifting creatures with an insatiable drive to drive humans to suicide and take their forms on the world. Using technology for their nefarious goals, the focus of their invasion is Mandela County in Wisconsin, with the population living in fear of the Alternates coming for them, and only the local police lieutenant and a paranormal-hunting club standing against these creatures.

Alternates can range from looking slightly off to being full-blown humanoid abominations.

During the public service announcement viewers are taught the "T.H.I.N.K. Principle," a series of guidelines on what to do when confronted with an alternate. These include "Telling" an authority figure, "Hindering" the alternate's movement, "Identifying" the type of alternate, "Neutralizing" the threat if it's safe to do so and finally…"Killing" yourself, because "there's not enough room for two of us." (The actual final steps, "Knowing" your place in reality / your enemy are not much better.) The background music cuts to dead silence when the last slide appears, enhancing the shock of the message.

Your Angel's Here (Angel Hare) (2025) The miniseries is an in-universe knockoff of the main Angel Hare universe, featuring the pyromaniacal Angel Maddy, her long-suffering assistant Richard, and conspiracy loon Zig; all of them warped reflections of the main cast members. They're all aware of their nature as ripoffs, cheap copies of the real things, and Maddy in particular absolutely loathes it, to the point where she burns down her cartoon in an effort to escape it and wreak her revenge on Angel Gabby (who… probably doesn't even know she exists). The combination of the uncanny cartoon styles used throughout and the existentially alarming knowledge that you were created as a knockoff copy of someone else makes this feel very Stranger to me.

Stranger: Us (2019) Us is a 2019 horror film written and directed by Jordan Peele, and his second film after 2017's Get Out. It stars Lupita Nyong'o, Winston Duke, Shahadi Wright Joseph, and Evan Alex, with Elisabeth Moss and Tim Heidecker in supporting roles.

Married couple Adelaide and Gabe Wilson (Nyong'o and Duke) decide to take their children Zora and Jason (Joseph and Alex) on vacation to a beach house to unplug with their family friends, Kitty and Josh Tyler (Moss and Heidecker). Meanwhile, Adelaide is plagued with an unexplainable trauma from her past which keeps her on edge.

Unfortunately, the Wilsons' serenity doesn't last. On the first night of their arrival, they see an uninvited family standing on their driveway who then break into their house. The Wilsons then discover that not only are the intruders doppelgängers of themselves, but both families share a deep connection and unfinished business, turning their peaceful vacation into a chaotic fight for survival.

Buried: Iron Lung (2026) The movie takes place entirely within a small, crude submarine at the bottom of an ocean of blood. The sub is emphasized throughout to be a creaking, hot, suffocating space that constantly leaking blood and always under threat of breaking under the pressure of the ocean. There are multiple scenes of the main character Simon crawling in the crawl space under the floor (one of which has the small duct rapidly filling with blood). It acts as both the Simon r's lifeline as well as his coffin - the only thing keeping him from being crushed under the weight of a sea of blood and the thing that will ultimately kill him, whether from the radiation poisoning from the camera, or the eventual depletion of his oxygen, or when it lets in too much blood and he drowns. He is literally welded inside a metal box with no way out, desperately scrambling for survival while under the weight of an ocean of blood. Neither Simon nor the audience are ever allowed to leave it.

There is also the metaphorical side of the Buried present here. Simon lacks any true freedom over his life, both as a prisoner of the COI (who gave him the option of life imprisonment or a risky operation with the promise of freedom they might deliver on), as a member of Eden (a death cult he was either born into or left in the care of at a young age) and narratively speaking (again, he was doomed from the moment he stepped inside the sub), he is always pushed into what's happening in his life and must bear the consequences of it regardless. There's the guilt of the hand he played in the station's destruction and the loss of hundreds of lives that weighs on him constantly. There's the weight of humanity's possible future weighing on his shoulders, with the data the black box carries potentially being a chance at saving what little remains of them. The movie bleeds (pardon the pun) the Buried in nearly ever aspect of both it's narrative and it's film making.

(I know in a metaphorical sense yes it’s about control and men withering away at women’s independence and personality to model them into the “ideal woman”, but I’m talking more in a literal sense and even then the loss of identity theme is still strong)

Also the 1950/60s esq feel to the town and the way the women would suddenly switch from having their personalities and styles to being a perfect housewife that’s interchangeable with the one next door feels aligned with the stranger in the same way plastic dolls do.

Also Us absolutely has the Web mixed in. Not only with how the doppelgängers are made but Red has a whole monologue about being tethered to Adelaide’s actions against her will.

Pluribus (2025-Present) The premise of the show is that everyone besides 12 people are infected by an alien virus that overwrites their personalities and gives them a single consciousness. After the initial disastrous mass Joining, the hive mind cleans everything up, and kindly explain the situation, genuinely believing that what has transpired is the best thing to ever happen to humanity and that the 12 should join up as soon as possible. To this end, they act like the people they used to be, meaning that most of the survivors are surrounded by beings that look and act like their loved ones, while their personalities, passions, and interests have been replaced by a generic general love, and the pursuit of alien goals. Over the course of the show, the protagonist, Carol Sturka, even falls in love with a member of the hivemind despite initially being horrified, only to be reminded at the end of the final episode that their only goal is to erase her identity and remake her as a part of them.

It is just 1 minute and 40 seconds long, so I'm not gonna spoil anything with would-have-been propaganda and just gonna tell everyone to please go watch it. It is very creepy, very upsetting, and very Stranger-aligned.
