Question for my Israelblr shalomies, a bit I'm curious about that they understandably don't teach you in "learn hebrew via app or in hebrew school" courses.
Hebrew written for adults doesn't have vowels and you're just supposed to know from context and experience what vowels go with the word. Makes sense to me, English is similar to a lesser degree with how many sounds some letters can represent sometimes.
But how does Hebrew written for adults handle new made up words in speculative fiction, where you're guaranteed to be encountering the word for the first time when you see it, like the many fictional languages used for dozens of words in Lord of the Rings, or anything involving aliens? Are vowels used for new words and made up names, or do you just have to guess and know what other languages use for vowels?

       nadia blinked because she's not sure her ears had just worked correctly. what is this strange question? and how does one come up with such things? truly surprising…
       "well, i think the answer is obvious. a goose will always win simply because they are more aggressive than ducks overall. geese are also often incredibly defensive of their nesting territory and will attack as well as even occasionally kill not only their own kind but also other birds. never heard that about a duck so…" a shrug followed as if that is explanation enough.
