So I got bored and decided to make a session, and I would love feedback!
Kaladin: Knight of Breath. This one just seemed obvious. He protects others through the use of his Surgebinding, and he is a Windrunner.
Shallan: Witch of Space. This one was a lot harder, and I’ll go over that with Jasnah. However, I do feel Shallan is a bit more selfish with her knowledge than Jasnah, and she’s less into sharing it. She’s not against it by any means, but she more seems to research for the purpose of just knowing things.
Jasnah: Maid of Light. I had a hard time because comparing Jasnah to Shallan in terms of the Light class was just frustrating, but I went with Jasnah being the Light player. I mostly gave her the Maid class because I was running out by this point. :P
Dalinar: Seer of Time. Straightforward, really. With Dalinar it was between Blood and Time, and I went with Time because of how he sees through time. He quite literally is a Seer of Time.
Adolin: Prince of Rage. Adolin and Szeth were, to me, the obvious choices for the Prince and Bard Classes. Both of them are destructive people, but Adolin chooses to be destructive. I chose Rage because of the Thrill.
Renarin: The Sylph of Hope. So I don’t really have any proof of this at all (want Renarin viewpoints please) but Renarin feels like a healer to me. And I really like the idea of Renarin also being filled with hope, both in terms of the emotion and the power. Also, I’m just please with the idea of Renarin healing people with the strange snake angels.
Szeth: Bard of Doom. Szeth is easily the MOST destructive person in the group, but he’s more of a weapon than a killer. He allows other people to destroy people, by use of him killing them. Remember he’s not just destroying lives: Taravangian is also trying to destroy the status quo at the moment, and he’s doing so by forcing Szeth to kill people.
Teft: Heir of Void. Teft is the heir to an organization that waits for the Surgebinders to return. However, that organization is gone, so I’m considering it “void” because it is forgotten knowledge. Void aspect is about the unknown to some extent. And yes, I am aware of how far I am stretching things.
Elhokar: Page of Blood. Elhokar fits the page class to a T right now. He literally is nothing but untapped potential. With guidance from Dalinar, perhaps that potential will be geared in the direction of uniting Alethkar and maybe even the whole world. I think this is also why there isn’t much love in the direction of Elhokar; he doesn’t have much going for him yet. But a lot of the people who have said that they don’t like Elhokar have also said that they’re reserving final judgement.
Navani: Thief of Heart. Jeez I’m being literal here. Navani’s pursuit of Dalinar is selfish, so that’s why I gave her Thief over Rogue. I’m not saying this as a negative thing; I am of the belief that you need to be at least somewhat selfish to succeed in many types of relationships. Also I believe that selfishness has halted somewhat with the two of them getting together.
So that’s it. My ten mythological heroes of Roshar. Anyone have any comments or changes they’d like to make? I made this pretty quickly, and I’d love to hear other opinions on the matter.
RENARIN AND I ARE BOTH SYLPH BUDDIES IT'S PERFECT I LOVE IT A+
...Oh wait ...there's other people on this list too.
For the most part, I like it! I think Navani's the only one that I would change. Unless I'm missing something, I don't see a Mind player yet. Mind is all about intelligence and decision making, and with her artifabrian work and running the country for a long while as queen, I can definitely see her as a Mind player. I probably wouldn't go with Thief of Mind though... Mage of Mind? Mage is a class we don't know much about, but getting things done using smarts alone seems VERY Navani to me.
