‘i’m not like them.’
@stormdcosmic : soft angst .
those words were familiar , struck him with the weight of déjà vu that has him remember the moment bob had breathed the timid confession to her two months before ; the new avengers were a lifeline , but sue was something else completely . time shared in each other's company had bob depend on her more than he'd care to confess lest it feel like a known weakness . he hated it . the sentry was fit to laugh were he not overcome by her cheek to use it now , pulling something bob had voiced to the surface now if only to quell the brilliance of the sentry .
" no . . . you're exactly the same as them . " voice darkens on sentry's realisation , " what are you doing if not trying to stamp out what i'm capable of ? you . you who encouraged me , told me i could do anything and believed in me — " grief cuts through the incredulous laugh that follows , there's no smile left when sentry begins an approach . " and now i'm showing you what i can do . . . it's too much , isn't it ? for all of you . telling bob he can do anything was just . . . just a way to get us to shut up , right ? to stop fucking whining . " feet still just short of her , sentry half smiles at her resilience and refusal to retreat a step , " bob put so much trust in you , even felt something for you , what a waste . "
