#stopgap measures

We had more gorgeous palette pages this weekend! And two very different vibes: a nice dream vs a nightmare.

A limited palette Krang nightmare.

This one I pulled straight from a dream of my own. It doesn't look a whole lot like it originally did in the dream, but it has the same vibe.

Is he awake? Is he dreaming? Who cares, he just wants off this ride.

Have you ever caught a glimpse of yourself in a dream, and they make you think "What did I do to become them?" Featuring Leonardo Blue from Once Upon A Dream and Li the Liar from A Dreary Wonderland.

A childhood dream! In Cross The Line, 2003 Mikey, Rise Leo and MM Leo are all raised by 2012 Splinter and they often has sleepovers. Rise Leo has always liked to be the knight in shining armor.

To celebrate putting out the first chapter of Stopgap Measures this weekend, I drew a little something for it! First, a nightmare that will stick with Donnie forever.

It's for saving my brother's life, Donnie wants to scream, o-or doing my damn best to. It's for holding him together with literal fucking wire until I figure out what the hell I'm supposed to do now. It's for keeping him together long enough that the rest of us don't fall to miserable fucking pieces.

This is Leo's job.

All that comes out is a whisper; "Casey, please."

Casey's hand finally lands on his shoulder. It should probably feel like something grand. Like a lifeline to grab onto or an anchor to weigh him back down into his body. It doesn't. It's just a hand.

"Okay," Casey says. There's a hard edge to his voice now. "I'll get what I can."

"And the drill?"

"I'll get it."

(After being forced to flee New York City, Donnie struggles to bear the weight of Leo's job.)

He doesn't want her to see this, does he? He doesn't want her to see the lair torn to pieces any more than he wants to see it, any more than he wanted her to see Leo's body in the back of the van or the twisted pink mass of her mutated father's face. The lair was supposed to be safe, for all of them.
