EXTRAJUDICIAL KILLINGS
An extrajudicial killing is the killing of a person, criminal, or suspect by government authorities without undergoing any judicial process or legal process. Here in the Philippines the common victims of extrajudicial killings are the drug suspects. The rates of extrajudicial killings incidence increase prior to the presidency of President Rodrigo Duterte who is well known for his strong campaign on Anti-Drugs. He declare an all-out war on drugs and according to him “We will not stop until the last drug lord are either killed or put behind bars”. There are 2,073 victims of extrajudicial or vigilante killings as of September 15, 2016 in the Philippines.
In my opinion whoever are doing this should stop this immediately because it violates the human rights of drug suspects. They should undergo due process and fair hearing and not being killed. No person has the right to take another person’s lives only the almighty god has the right to do that. Extrajudicial killings does not only violates human rights of criminals or suspects but also it does not give them the opportunity to change their lives. I believe that any person can change, according to St. Augustine There is no saint without a past, and no sinner without future.
