I have two friends that just celebrated 4 years of dating. It honestly brought me so much joy. There is just something about two people who are so good together, two people who have worked through so many things and are just plain amazing together. People who aren't rushing things, but taking their time. I look up to this couple so much not only because they love and respect each other, but also because their relationship seems so healthy. They aren't attached at the hip, they both have their own friends. They treat each other with respect. They are better together, but they are fine when they are apart. They push each other to be the best people that they can be and they are amazing. So many people around me are rushing. Rushing to get married. Rushing the have a significant other. Rushing to get the job they want. Rushing to get their college degree. Rushing to have babies. Rushing. It's so refreshing to see people who aren't rushing. They are enjoying what is happening now. Now granted, I am not in their relationship and I don't know the private details of their lives, but these are things that I notice and admire as an outsider looking in. As someone who cares for them both and who is effected but the positive waves of their relationship, I appreciate them and I am so happy for them.
