Wow I just saw a hot take that literally said “asexuality is a legit valid identity but ‘demisexuality’ is a goddamn joke making a mockery of the experiences of LGB people”. To be transparent, the person was talking about people who are “heteroromantic and demisexual”. But like, that’s still a real thing? Like the ability to develop romantic attraction for a person of your same gender is not a prerequisite to being able to develop sexual attraction or not. Demisexuality isn’t just a fancy word for “people who don’t fuck all the time”. Good christ.
