              drum stick spins between his fingers, a smug smirk spreading across his features at eden’s comment, raising an eyebrow. who knew a girl from a mormon family would be so cool? then again, he doesn’t blame her for rebelling at all. he can’t imagine how pissed off her father was whenever gareth showed up on the front porch unannounced, usually to pick up her daughter to go do god knows what. that’s exactly the point though. god knows. hopefully that would give him some peace of mind!

        “yeah?”  oh, how eden took the words right out of   her mouth.  even with all the supernatural aspects of hawkins made clear to her — or as clear as they could be, since there were some things dustin and nancy and the rest of them still didn’t quite understand — chrissy still felt as if she was losing her mind whenever something new came up.  small towns usually kept some big secrets, or so the saying went, and hawkins probably embodied that more than any other small town in america.  or possibly the whole world.  “i’m guessing this isn’t how you thought your spring break might go either, then?”

        “i really like your earrings.”  the comment was mainly   to break the awkward silence stretching between them, but chrissy did mean it.  while she wasn’t so bad with small talk before, she now found it hard to think of trivial topics of conversation after the whole monster from another dimension business chrissy found herself involved in.  “have you known them long?  the uh... the party?”
