@stoicists liked for a starter!
"Hey there, big guy!” A yellow blob with red boots walked up quite casually to him
“So, you look pretty cool! Where’d ya get the outfit from?”
☼|| "Just a few minor setting adjustments aaand..... done! You ready boy?"
Sunny's head turned from the large machinery in front of her to her dog, Blade Wolf. The two weren't supposed to be in that room, with the time machine. That's right, a REAL LIVE time machine! The instant Sunny had caught wind of even the possibility, her inner drive for adventure and determination kicked in. She had to find a way to get to that time machine, and she did.
Sneaking into the holding base was the easy part, especially with her dog to scout ahead the majortiy of the time. The only part that really sent shivers down her spine was when they actually stepped up to the huge oval shaped portal-like device. They were about to do something nobody had done before. Or, at least, nobody had lived to tell the tale. There was a reason this thing wasn't public, but that didn't scare Sunny away, and anyway, she liked to view it as seeing an opportunity and seizing it!
Taking a step back, the child took a deep inhale, mentally preparing herself for the potential backlash of her soon to be choices. There was always room for failure, always, and when tampering with wormholes and time travel? More room than ever imaginable. These things were unpredictable and unstable. There were no definites. There was simply jumping into the unknown and hoping your body ends up where you planned instead of getting eviscerated instantly.
The buzz of the technology made her eager.
"Alright. On the count of three, we jump, okay?"
"Affirmative."
"Okay! One.... Two.... Three!"
Black out. Absolutely nothing. There was perhaps a brief few moments of the feeling of free-falling and a glimpse of light before she was out cold.
When her eyes opened again.. she was.. lying on the ground? It was cold metal. Boy, she wished she brought a jacket now. She sat up slowly, her eyes adjusting to her surroundings, as if someone had suddenly turned all the lights on. Her second decision was instantaneous, looking at her hands, arms, legs, any part of body she could to make sure she was in one piece. Everything.. looked in place.
She stood up slowly, reaching for the guard rail next to her for support. Had she fallen from a height? Her legs felt like jelly! How long had she been laying there? Those were questions she knew she wouldn't get the answer to. Her brief moment of questioning was cut cold when she recognized something. She could feel footsteps on the platform she was standing on, seconds later the sound came to her.
Tap. Tap. Tap.
They were getting closer. Her sparkling intuition threw up a million red flags. This wasn't a safe spot to be in. No, not one bit. Her eyes darted around her immediate surroundings. Find a place to hide. Find a place to hide.
Was that.. a box? Perfect! She dropped to her knees again, as quietly as she could, lifting the box and crawling under it. If she was as quiet as a mouse, nobody would even check. She hoped. Maybe now she'd have a few moments to collect herself and figure out where she was.
Unless.. she... Achoo! Oh no.
@stoicists wouldn't mind spotting me a cigarette, would you?
