My 40 gallon has 8 panda cories and will soon have 15 harlequin rasboras after they’re done with quarantine. Would it be ok to add in one single dwarf or powder blue gourami to complete the stock?

Heya friends!
So I’m upgrading my Axolotl tank very soon as they’re outgrowing the tank I initially bought for them and will soon be in a 40 long.
This means I’ll have a nice 20 long with no inhabitants. Does anyone have a suggestion for what could go in there? (aside from a betta, a betta is the last thing I need more of rip..)
I was sorta considering something reptilian if possible, with research of course, but I just wanted to see what all would work there from the professionals?
My 29 gallon is on its way to being cycled! Yesterday the parameters were 2/.25/10! I might wait for the plants to fill in a little more before I add fish. I have a few questions about stocking it though. I have plans to add 10 guppies, 10 bentos tetras, and 6 strebai corydoras. I've heard that male guppies can get stressed without females, but I don't want to have the constant reproducing problem. Is it okay to keep just males? Also the pH of the tank is at 8.2. All of the fish I want have a pH range that cuts off at 8. Should I worry about it? I have IAL I can put in the tank to help lower it.
Amidst all the tragedy and losing 16 fish in my 40 gallon, things are finally seeming to stabilize. Everyone still looks pretty bad, but most are eating again so things are looking up. I’ve been giving them daily water changes, extra aeration, and a dose of paraguard and stresscoat each day and it seems to be helping them so far.
I’m not going to buy more fish yet until i’m sure that my current fish are doing better, even though i have a quarantine tank now. I still want to finalize my ideas for what i can eventually get though, so i need some opinions on that.
My ideas:
-20 neon or cardinal tetra (not sure which one to go with, i hear mixed things about both)
-a pair of gold rams
-a clown pleco
-either 3 honey or dwarf gourami, or another school of a larger tetra (not sure what to go with or how many, also depends on what my lfs has in stock. They just need to be peaceful. serpae tetras are really appealing to me, but are they aggressive?)
And this will be in the 40 gal with the 8 cories and siamensis i have currently if they all make it through this mystery illness. Whatever my stock is i need to make sure they are peaceful and not going to hurt my cories or anyone else at all, i can’t deal with more aggressive fish that are supposed to be peaceful.
I hope you don’t mind me tagging you in this here @narelleart
Stocking ideas for 50l (~13,20gal)
Hey fishblr,
after Cosmo's death I am on the fence about what to do with the new tank I got for him.
My other bettas are long finned and struggle with their swimming so I don't want to put them in there.
I kind of don't want a new betta aswell. (Don't quote me on that, though, cause Betta's are fun. I would just get a plant, no big finned fish anymore.)
Do you have some ideas.
I ordered an RO system too, so I can work with all kinds of fish/inverts.
Thank you c=

Stocking?
So we just upgraded from a 15gal long to a 29gal long and all we've got in there so far is 5 tiger barbs and maybe 2-3 dozen cherry shrimp. Is there anything else we can put in there? I think we'll do a few more barbs, but we are also looking for some other fish if we can.
ALRIGHT, so I’ve always wanted a big tank. And I mean big, entirely to keep a pair of tiger oscars. My dream is a 250 gallon, but if shit happens I’ll settle for 150. Now, my question is, is there any schooling fish OR catfish that can be kept with oscars? I did want a sailfin pleco, but after doing some research learned that plecos weren’t that great for tankmates, and wouldn’t match the way I was planning on aquascaping the tank (no plants, deep sand bed, just rocks and driftwood for decoration and even that spare). Is there anything that can go with them? If not, totally fine with keeping a pair of giants by themselves, but I would like some visual variety in the tank.
Not being done now or anytime soon, just making plans.
