South Bend, Part Three
I spent more time back at the Grand Trunk Western Bridge over the St. Joseph River—nearly two hours I believe. I was happy with the result, but six to eight trains, at least, went rocketing by on the former New York Central within earshot, much to my chagrin. (I was invested, however, and dared not relocate and miss this river crossing.)

South Bend, Part One
I found myself in South Bend and set a side a couple of hours to see some trains and learn a bit about the roads through here. I was intrigued by a bit of tracks near the middle of town where the Grand Trunk Western merges up with the New York Central for a time before splitting again.
These images were shot just east of that point, where the Grand Trunk Western (now Canadian National) crosses the St. Joseph River. I was disappointed somewhat that the power on this westbound train was representative of the other major line in town, the Norfolk Southern.
