Gold: Tomas Walsh (NZL) - 22.03 Silver: Joe Kovacs (USA) - 21.66 Bronze: Stipe Zunic (CRO) - 21.46

Tomas Walsh of New Zealand won the men's shot put world title on Sunday with a stunning series of throws climaxing with a best of 22.03 metres. The 25-year-old – a former builder which he credits for his body strength – edged out America's defending champion Joe Kovacs, who posted a best of 21.66. Croatia's Stipe Zunic took the bronze with 21.46m
