I have seen nothing about this on tumblr at all, so I guess it’s up to me to spread the word!
Stim: An Autism Anthology edited by Lizzie Huxley-Jones is an upcoming anthology of writing and art entirely by autistic people! It’s being published by UK-based crowdfounding publisher Unbound, which means it needs to hit 100% funding before it comes out. There’s a low-earner pledge level for those who need it, and there’s also a pay it forward pledge level where you pay for an extra copy for those who can’t afford to buy one for themselves! There are essays, there are stories, there’s art - some about autism, some just showcasing autistic voices.
Listen, I’m pretty much broke, and yet I had slammed the pledge button within five minutes of having heard of this book. I am really looking forward to it.
If you live outside the UK the shipping costs are pretty intense, but you can also pledge for a digital copy! The world really needs this book, so if you can do anything to help it come into being - or if you just want to read it yourself - please do take a look!
