And seeing these two scenes side by side just breaks my heart.

Because now it gives Purple fleeing the Nether War an extra layer of depth. They're not just afraid and betrayed and overwhelmed and needing some place where they can take a step back and unwind and ask themself 'How did I end up in this situation, deemed useless by nearly every adult I know?'

They were reliving the single most traumatic moment of their life, both physical and emotional. In the midst of war, wounded and fatigued, reaching out to someone they thought they could trust to PHYSICALLY HELP THEM OUT and not getting it. Abandoned in their time of need.

Because of this, when victim started renaming Chosen, I first thought that he was going to outright rename her 'victim', further solidifying the motif from ep 10.

BUT HE DOESN'T. AND I LOVE THAT HE DOESN'T.

Chosen is not the be all end all for victim. Chosen is not the person that victim wants to target.

ALAN is.

Chosen is just Alan's *proxy* in the Outernet. They're no one outside that, to victim. They're just an obstacle, a stepping stone. Once victim got what he wanted out of Chosen, he discarded her. Left her to fall, to die, to do what the fuck ever. victim doesn't care about the Chosen One. victim only cares about ALAN.
