To round off the fun and energetic Champions arc, we end with a serious back to form with Gregarios contacting the Freedom Fighters. I love how Skelly has Nicole always be a presence as a tiny hologram torso.
And thatās it for the Championship arc! All in all, definitely one of the most enjoyable stories Iāve ever (re)read in Archie Sonic. Its appealing to both long-time fans and a good introduction to new ones, I bet. Fun allĀ āround! But like all good parties, it has to come to an end and put the comic back on track.

Man, Chip met Sonic waay later in this adaptation. How long the comic focuses on their relationship after this...we will have to see. Unlike the game, I donāt remember the two having any fun moments together, but weāll get there when we get there. Love Knucklesā Sonic 3-esque chuckle though!
I know later Iāll not have good things to say about it, but I do appreciateĀ Gabriel Cassataās colouring! It can be flat at times but the shading really works, even if its quality depends mostly on how good the artist is. Like it or not, his colouring is the most consistent visual identity of the post-reboot comics. xP
Breezie is the kind of villain that would profit from the world breaking into pieces, but mostly from behind her business so nobody suspects anything. Very much like how Mammoth Mogul operated pre-reboot. A shame we never got to see more of her before the comics ended.
Also I just noticed the pictures in her room are mostly just Badniks replicating famous paintings, like the one of Prometheus being dissected by an eagle. xD

Tails gets a moment in the sun! Pretty awesome of him to make a comeback after being humiliated by Honey last issue. Metal Sonic gets so mad that Skelly draws him with his scary red eyes accurately for the first time.
Plus, I still love Sonic being a cool big brother figure to Tails. And I like how he pops up out of the hole, likeĀ āHuh, thatās way cool!ā.
Metal Sonic is here to take the Chaos Emerald, just barely preventing Nack from taking a shot at the heroes. Huh, to this day Iām not quite certain why exactly she allows Metal Sonic to take the emerald with no security, except to not have any of the heroes take it. I guess she likes Metal just that much?
