Sonic’s friends are all stuck in an electric trap and the ensuing stress finally causes the Werehog to be unleashed. This is pretty epic considering how much its been foreshadowed, and Tyson Hesse does a really good job illustrating the action and the tense panels of Sonic completely losing it! Hot take, but enjoy the artist’s action scenes than the slower ones, at least in this issue.

Hells yeah, the is finally here! Its really cool that not only is he scratching through the comic cover, but it actually shows the first page on the other side. That's pretty neat.

He doesn’t seem to like Sonic very much! I forgot Sonic has kept his Werehog symptoms a secret from the others...
Who would have thought Tyson Hesse had drawn Mighty and Ray before they returned in Sonic Mania? I really love that this is how they show up before the Freedom Fighters, and how Ray doesn’t stutter as much and Mighty faintly shown in the panels before he tosses that E-100 bot!
Sonic and Mighty’s bro rivalry is honestly pretty wholesome. And again, I CHERISH their outfits here! Its just enough to make their character designs stick out.
One of the first things you might notice is that this issue was pencilled by a one Tyson Hesse, who would later go on to draw the Sonic Mega Drive special and the animated Sonic Mania Adventures! I think this was one of his earliest contributions to the comics, so his style isn't quite as defined yet. Still, characters often have his signature grin and he's very good with eye expressions.
Also, if you thought the train story was the last we'd see of the E-100 series robots, then I guess you'd be surprised as I was that Eggman decided to make a Gamma-like dog. And I thought E-107 had the most extensive remodelling...

The side story stars Antoine and Bunnie saving a wedding couple from floods during the whole Shattered World crisis. Its really self-contained and its done by pre-reboot artist James Fry, but its got some nice couple moments showing how wholesome and close these two are, even when the literal world is breaking apart below.
Man, take in all these issues of Thunderbolt in her giant mecha suit ‘cause its not gonna be here for long. xD Its a pretty neat design, kinda like a mini Egg Beater.
Worth noting that Thunderbolt was conceptualized by Aleah Baker, though I don’t know if she also designed the robo suit too.
