it's so cute when people draw him in sweaters! however, i'd say clothing choice can really vary on how people interpret steven tbh! of course, people can wear and / or draw certain clothing without giving it much thought, but clothing can actually be telling of one's character in a way as well. in my personal opinion, however: i imagine that steven wouldn't like to show- nor look at- his scars, so long sleeves / pants would likely be a common choice of his. however, there's also other context that could come into play there, such as texture / material and the environment. if he had a private place of his own, and it were too hot at the time (or while sleeping), he'd probably choose something simple like a t-shirt- albeit a little reluctantly. same goes for if the sweater had a rougher texture, like a woolen sweater, since wearing clothes like can be uncomfortable at times. sweaters and such can also have a degree of weight and grip to them, almost like a hug, kind of simulating a similar effect to a weighted blanket. i myself like to wear ponchos or jackets because they're similar to wearing a blanket at all times, it's a nice little comfort, and i imagine that steven would feel more or less the same. so although i like all clothing options on him, i do have a bit of a lean towards team sweater :3 -🍆

YES YES YES THIS IS SO REAL! I HAVE A SIMILAR HEADCANON TOO!! I love rotary phone noises, the little clicks and whirrs of the dials are so strangely fun to listen to, as someone who owns one myself, and I 100% believe phoneguys would be no different! I totally agree that Steven's would be especially lively, for lack of better words, due to his near-constant anxiety and stress :] -🍆
