no, there's work to be done, and steve has never exactly struggled to find something that needs doing... but then again, there's always work to be done. he isn't even supposed to still be in new york, technically, but with the avengers' operations centered here, he has a way of finding himself back in the city more often than he'd planned, and maybe that's part of the problem; somewhere along the way, he's gotten too accustomed to treating every spare hour like an opportunity to catch up on another assignment.

when was the last time he did something simply because it was fun? something pointless and even entirely ridiculous?
