I recently decided to check out the Pucca: Love Recipe series on Netflix, and right in the first episode there's a villain character, called Fyah, who has a voice that I was like "ha that guy sounds kinda like Steve Staley (my beloved), but there's no way it could be him". The episode drags on, he never once stops sounding like him. "It just sounds a bit like him, but it's not him, it can't be... Can it?" The episode keeps going, and he only sounds more and more like him. "That's him isn't it? That's totally him, it has to be, it sounds just like him!"
So i pause the episode and opened up IMDB and look up Steve Staley's IMDB to see if Pucca would appear in his voice roles, but it didn't. I try to search for the Love Recipe series using the search engine and nothing but the Jetix series would pop up, it's like the series doesn't exist as far as IMDB is concerned. So many questions, but my first one still remained. "Who the hell is voicing this guy and IS IT STEVE STALEY?"
I decided to resume the video and wait for the credits to roll so I could check the listed voice actors, and while I didnt see Staley anywhere, there was a Steve Canden credited as not only the voice of Fyah, but also for one of Pucca's uncles: Linguini. Another name Staley uses sometimes is Steve Cannon, but I've never seen this Canden name before when it comes to voice roles he's been credited in. There's a possibility that it's some other dude, but the fact that there is no information anywhere online about a Steve Canden voice actor has me suspecting that Canden is another one of Staley's alias.
The thought of this has me channeling my own Inner Pucca to rabidly pursue any and all voice credits to Steve Canden, if it means i can consume even more of Staley's sexy voice.
I'm still left wondering why Pucca: Love Recipe has no IMDB page, though. It's been running since 2018, has no one thought to add it into the database?
