While its definitely not elaborated on in the same detail as Elias’ life is it’s heavily implied that despite his successes in life so far, he has a very complicated and strained relationship with his family to the extent that he may have cut contact with them.

A week or two prior to the stabbing Guy’s father passes away but he doesn’t tell anyone because he’s quite new to the job still and doesn’t want to be forced to take time off

Since starting the job he has always liked Elias and appreciates the fact that although he is his boss, Elias has a certain level of respect for each of his colleagues that he hasn’t really experienced in other jobs. Bc of this, and with Elias taking Guy out on a lot of cases to show him the ropes, Guy starts seeing Elias as an almost father figure

Side note but I would also say that the two of them have certain similarities in that they both were hired as detectives straight out of uni, Elias seeking out and hiring an exceptional graduate bc that’s what happened to him to have his job

Elias could also be said to have a complicated relationship to his family but its definitely not to the extent that Guy does (obviously Elias is still in contact with his family and only has direct problems with certain people). His issues mostly come with the unique experience of having a major health issue as a child and the way he was treated differently bc of it, but he doesn’t remember any of this (maybe part of it subconsciously) and assumes his childhood was normal and happy

Overall, guy looks up to Elias bc he’s good at his job while being kind and respectful to his employees, and is very supportive to Guy in his career. He isn’t the absolute perfect boss but he’s well liked by the people who work for him and after he’s gone Guy can only see the good parts and decides he needs to be just like him. A lot of the other people in the station aren’t as nice as him and despite all his hard work and family difficulties to survive in this world/career he has to stay kind

i can kinda see why people would want this, because of peggy’s dementia and everything? i can see why people would want for the characters to get a real goodbye, without peggy forgetting things later or passing away in her sleep (i vaguely remember people talking about how it was a really underwhelming end for her character), but… personally i thought that their ending in TFA was really great and tragic and perfect for the characters, so i really don’t see why we need another goodbye between them in a4? especially since steve seems to have long since accepted the way things went with him and peggy?

Not during the events of the story but I think after Elias survives the kidnapping, when he’s more cemented into the family life he would go out and get one yes!

In his late teens he began studying at a culinary school and has always had an interest in cooking. When he was homeless/in prison he would always fight back against anyone encouraging him to get a job, angry at the world and not wanting to contribute anything

He has this crazy upper body strength from training his arms in the gym so much but can’t work a manual labour job due to his disability, and doesn’t have the qualifications or home address for other jobs so upon leaving prison he is kind of between places, living out of his van and doing odd delivery jobs for friends

When he moves in with Elias he (for once in his life) gets to really decompress and relax. After doing this for a while Elias encourages him to look for a job he would really enjoy doing, not out of necessity or survival as they’re able to live comfortably whether he has a job or not. I think Gabe would either go into working as a chef in a local restaurant, or into support work for young people who have struggled with similar issues to him (disability, homelessness, incarceration, etc)

He has the patience of a saint so I think he’d be really good at something like that

YAY im happy to talk about Jonah I love him

Jonah is a fellow detective who is a rank below Elias and has a lot of respect for him

He is very intelligent and studied anatomy and medicine before realising his people skills were absolutely terrible, instead choosing to pursue pathology due to his interest in anatomy. This leads to him becoming very desensitised and developing an intense and somewhat disturbing interest in extreme gore

He meets Elias early in his career when he’s performing an autopsy for a case elias is working on, and the two become friends. Elias notices that some of the conclusions he comes to are very useful and that he has a very logical way of thinking that would probably make him a good detective. Years later Jonah is suspended from his role for a somewhat minor incident caused by his lack of people skills that is blown out of proportion. Seeing this, elias (who has moved up the ranks since first meeting Jonah) offers him a trial position to see if he can be of any use. And several years later, he’s still working for Elias as a detective

Part of Elias’ thought process is that through exposure to people he would be forced to improve his social skills, which does happen over time but he’s still short tempered and is backed up by fellow detectives Eddie and Guy who are more eloquent than him.

In the years since Elias’ coffee table incident, Jonah begins to notice his boss’ gradual descent into depression and grows worried about him, choosing to stay with him late at night at the office to keep him company. The two actually grow very close, Elias confiding in him about the fact that he’s gay and has been closeted almost his entire life, and Jonah shares with Elias that he’s a trans man. They do bond over being queer men in their late 30s/early 40s and I think this means a lot to Elias bc he doesn’t really have any other friends and doesn’t know any other queer people

Then after his divorce, it’s not really clear whether they take the relationship any further but at the very least they kiss at least once and consider it, but Jonah is primarily into women

After Elias is forced to resign from his job after being stabbed, Jonah realises that his suspension is about to end on his old pathology position. He dislikes Alice, the new detective replacing Elias, and decides he wants to return to his old position. He is on Elias’ stalking case but is too late to prevent it. Jonah is very very desensitised and not much gets to him but Elias’ stalking case is too much even for him

Sorry that was really long. I can talk about my characters for a billion years

Kevin is an older character of mine who I sort of stopped using for a few years and only started drawing him again recently so I don’t really remember all of his story from before!

Currently however he’s a roughly 40 year old guy who is a single father with one child (Amadeus) who is early 20s and recently moved out to study fashion at university leaving Kevin on his own

At this time Kevin is sort of getting used to his life again after a mental breakdown he had about five years earlier leading him to live in the desert for a while. He works as a cameraman on films and a wedding photographer. He is actually very good at his job but has low self esteem and struggles with pretty severe depression

Kevin used to have a roommate named Vince when he was in his 30s who was a total freeloader and treated Kevin quite badly due to some personal issues. When Kevin ran off to the desert the two had a big fight and haven’t seen each other since. Since then Vince has cleaned up his act and works as an addiction therapist at a rehab facility but he still kinda stalks Kevin sometimes just to see what he’s up to

I actually just got a new character in Kevin’s story, his 18 year old half brother Ludo he never knew existed. Ludo was in the foster system his whole life but when he hits 18 he realises he has nowhere to go and learns about Kevin from a DNA test. He turns up on his doorstep one day and Kevin reluctantly lets him in, I think neither of them are very happy people and they don’t get along well at first but over time realise they need each other’s support bc they don’t really have anyone else
