getting back to this trunk!! the stencil came out mostly okay, I did have to clean it up a little with a brush. I did some light sanding and a little dry brushing over it to get it looking more distressed!

One artform I really Love is stenciling, and apparently the practice goes back millennia, according to what I read earlier.
I know some people might consider it cheating, but I don't. It's one of the earliest art forms I think anyone learns (at least in my country.)
One reason I Love it is the ability to turn pretty much anything into a stencil.
I've seen people turn everything from a coffee can to a cardboard or newspaper cutout into one.
The only limits are one's imagination and ability for innovation.

whew I was not sure this would work out!
I bought some stencil sheets and cut out qapla’ in klingon letters for this collage. I also got some tacky spray the other day that’s SUPPOSED to be repositionable so you can use it to keep stencils in place. the first time I laid down the stencil with the spray as a test it about ripped off the collage and left residue. my solution was I put some plaster dust on it to make it slightly less sticky! 🥲
anyway I thought y’all might like to see the stencil pulling off! it’s very satisfying.
who up making their own stencils 🙋
I’ve been into making my own stencils lately!! I’ve done it before but not this much in a while. I’m doing it with just cardstock so the stencils don’t hold up well…btwwwww
