A mosasaur tooth of a Stelladens mysteriosus from the Couche III in the phosphate mines of Sidi Chennane, Oued Zem, Khouribga, Morocco. These odd teeth are unlike any known mosasaur, and can be distinguished by their star or screwdriver-shaped crown. Fossils of this rare species were likely mistaken as pathological teeth of Mosasaurus beaugei prior to description.

A mosasaur tooth of a Stelladens mysteriosus from the Couche III in the phosphate mines of Sidi Chennane in Oued Zem, Khouribga, Morocco. While mosasaurs in general are abundant in the phosphates, this species is incredibly rare and elusive. The star or screwdriver-shaped teeth of this odd mosasaur is known to have serrated cutting edges. This particular specimen is quite large for this species at around 63mm in height.
