I was walking around the corner of the house and found this little one face first in the grass. He was so still, I thought he was dead. With a heavy heart I turned to get some gloves and shovel. Then I saw something move. When I looked closer, I realized he was still breathing.

C picked him up--gently, gently--and the bird gripped his finger and straightened his wings, stunned, but otherwise uninjured. C placed him gently on a tree in the shade and, after a bit of a rest, he flew off about his business.
