A rude what? || James & Stefan
Stefan let out an exasperated sigh as he quickly muttered a few German words under his breath, and he nodded at whatever was being told to him from the other side of the phone. âJa, ja okayâ were his final words before hanging up the phone. âSorry about thatâ he apologized, though not giving any further explanation as to who had interrupted with the phone call. âI swear itâs going on silent nowâ he added as he slid the ringer all the way down to off. âNext roundâs on me for being such a rude twatâ
James frowned as the other spoke in German. He couldnât really make out what the call was about but it did give him a free drink so who was he to complain. âA busy man so it seems?â He was quite curious to what this guy was doing, he certainly wasnât someone heâd seen before.
âNo worries, itâs not too uncommon to get a call now and then.â Though he tended to shut his off so no one could bother him. After hours and drunk, he wouldnât be much of a help, to begin with.
âYou could say thatâ Stefan sighed, letting it turned slightly into a laugh as he shook his head a little. He wasnât even sure why heâd answered the call. He knew the way most conversations with his father went. Theyâd all been the same since heâd come back to town, all except for one which had been Mr. Konig calling to inform Stefan of his grandmotherâs passing.
âWell, hopefully thatâs ended for the nightâ he relaxed his face into a smile. âAbout that drink then?â
âA man who knows business is a man I can appreciate.â Lately, James had been thinking to expend Neverland and add in some additional theme rooms. He also planned to add a wedding suite, but find it hard to get his idea onto paper and clear enough to the builders of what he expected of them.
âWho knows.â A businessman never gets off the clock, James had learned as much by experience alone. âA whiskey for me, I like something strong. On the rocks.â
âYouâd probably appreciate my father thenâ for some of the faults the man had, it couldnât be denied he was a good business man. It often confused Stefan why his family had stayed there, when there were other, bigger cities for them to live in that the family business had touched. âMake that twoâ he held up two fingers to the bartender.
âMy father always says you judge a man youâre doing business with by how he takes his whiskey. Oddly enough I think heâs left me to figure out on my own just how theyâre to be judgedâ
âIâm a man of various tastes.â James laughed. âBut itâs just that I come across a lot of business discussions due to the work Iâm in.â He explained. âI think itâs normal when you are in a manager position, it involves a lot of talking, making arrangements. You know business stuff.â He smiled when Stefan decided to join him on the drink.
âOh, never heard of that one. And what does mine tell about me?â He nodded. âI think a lot of people in the business world arenât what youâd think in the first impression.â
