not a fairy tale || { daire & rayne }
He knew that the village was risky.
Daire knew this so, so well, but instincts brought him back every once in awhile, especially when his king had no use for him. (Silly thing to think; the king always demanded him near, but Daire had way about him when it came to handling the domineering faerie lord.)Â
Because of this, the gancanagh made it his job to venture into Sleepy Hollow on more than one occasion, especially with the sudden influx of confused humans. He enjoyed seeing them stumble around and try to figure out what was occurring --although he couldn't quite grasp the town's oddities, he at least knew more than those that showed up out of no where. It was fun for him and he liked to make a game out of their hazy-eyed fretting.
Waltzing through the village after entering from the nearby forest, the blond dug his fists deep into the pockets of his trousers. As usual, he wasn't dressed like anyone rich or formidable. Yet that peculiar, impish charm that he exhibited often drew people to him whether they wanted to be near or not. That was what he was good at, after all. How else could he get a man or woman in bed with him?
Or falling over themselves trying to get over that insatiable adoration that festered in their hearts for Daire.
Really, he was quite the gem.
Scoping out people from the crowd, he made sure he was ultra aware of those that could be less than human. With the strange appearances of newcomers, some of the arrivals were of a different sort of species all together. He'd gotten whiffs of demons and various other types, and while he was confident in his ability to stay out of serious danger, Daire was always on alert. He didn't want to get caught up with someone stronger than himself, and it'd be messy to get the king of the fae involved as well.Â
He didn't like it when others touched his property...
Such a thought only brought a bitter smile to Daire's lips, and he had to pause in his wandering to cover his mouth to conceal a low laugh.
