AFOP - Assistance Needed
NOTE: I did also post this on Steam's "Player Support" forum for this game and put in a support ticket with Ubisoft directly. I am posting it here as well in case anyone else may have suggestions.

I have been trying to get my game running since Jul. 3rd, 2026. It was working the night of Jul. 2nd and I went to play the next morning and the game would not open. Steam shows the game as running, but nothing happens and I can continue using my laptop as if the game wasn't even open or running.
For context, I'm running the game on a 1tb external SSD (SanDisk brand).
My laptop itself is an ASUS TUF A15 Gaming Laptop, 15.6” FHD 16:9 144Hz Display, AMD Ryzen™ 5 7535HS Processor, NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 3050, 16GB DDR5, 512GB PCIe® Gen 4.0 SSD, Wi-Fi 6, Windows 11 Home, FA506NC-DS53.
To assist with any potential overheating, I have two cooling pads stacked just to be on the safe side since I know this is a heavy performance game.
I have put Steam to run as administrator, I have set Ubisoft Connect to run as admin, I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game twice, I have uninstalled and reinstalled Steam itself, I have uninstalled and reinstalled Ubisoft Connect itself, I have made sure my drivers are all up to date, I have deleted and cleared all cache files so that there is a clean slate, I have done every possible action and the game will not load. 10+ minutes and the game does not open. I have waited 30+ minutes to see if the game is just taking forever to boot and still nothing happens. It shows in Steam that the game is running. I open task manager and it doesn't show as an active app, it shows up in Background Processes and that it's using 0% CPU/GPU. I have to manually close it via task manager because the game window does not open for me at all and I can continue using my laptop as if the game wasn't even open despite Steam showing it as running. I have even interjected the -dx12 (and -dx11) options in both Steam and Ubisoft Connected, along with disabling the interfaces for both clients, but this still did not fix the issue.
I have tried running the game from Steam. Tried running it from Ubisoft. Tried running it from the exe file direction. All three give the same result: shows it as running, game shows as a Background Process, and I have to manually close it via Task Manager. When trying to run it from my Steam Library, directly from the exe, or from the desktop shortcut, I have also noticed that Ubisoft Connect DOES NOT LAUNCH. If I have purposely closed it, either leaving it in my Tray or entirely ending the process via Task Manager and closing the program entirely, it will not re-launch as it used to. Steam immediately shows AFOP as launching, then switches to show the game as running. Nothing else happens after this.
I don't know what to do in order to get this game running properly again. I am not tech savvy and would never run the risk of trying to mess with coding or anything like that if it came to it.
I don't know what I else to do and would like to know if anyone else has been having this issue?
If you have had this issue, have you found a fix?
