I was never able to get a screen cap of it, but one guy asked if I was serious about having herpes and when I said yes, he unmatched us, basically blocking me from talking to him
Posted the beginning of this the other day. This one actually turned out pretty well. Not quite as horrible as I figured it would be. After this it turned into a regular and pleasant conversation. Remarkably he's still talking to me.
I'm gonna start posting all the fun conversations from my dating "experiment" so far. Before I do though, I just want to thank everyone that's helped me since my diagnosis. Without y'all, I don't think I'd be as accepting of my diagnosis as I have come to be
Tinder project text update #4:
Second full day with picture up... 1. Yesterday = 8 matches / 4 conversations 2. Today = 4 matches / 1 conversation 3. On tinder I have a certain type of look, leaning to middle ground between lumberjack/douche, somewhere around Dapper... This means out of 50 photos I'll pick only around 15. I regularly only got 3-10 matches a day before this. So I'd say these aren't bad numbers. 4. Plus sides: a) I have still received NO hate or shaming for posting about my std. b) When it came up in conversation it went over well, the usual reaction was along the lines of "let's use a condom." 5. Downsides: Probably less matches then I could get, but if herpes is a deal breaker for them I'd rather not know so it doesn't make me feel bad. Honestly, I don't see any real downsides (I also live in an area where my friends don't really use this, and a majority of my matches were tourists. This means I don't have to worry about my std status getting back to me from friends of friends) and plan to leave this picture up. 6. Thank you so much for your support and I couldn't've kept my courage bolstered without your kind words. Some of you have sent messages that I would like to answer publicly, but I don't know if it's okay.

Might as well go all out with it. I have no shame, I have no fear.
Case in point

If anything this is only proving to me is that Herpes doesn't make you unattractive. Most people can't give two shits.
