all hesitancy was thrown out the window the moment they lips met. in a second peter was pulling james close by the shirt, unable to get enough of the other’s taste. with firewhiskey melted on their tongues, peter swears that it’s burning a hole in his stomach, but he can’t stop & from what he can tell he doesn’t think james wants him to either. but then, in another second, he pulls back, slowly separating james’ lips from his own.
“You owe me 5 galleons for saying I don’t know how to kiss.”

Her hair had gotten tangled in the zipper of her jacket and the potential for pain was what had Lily so tense as she softly whined and waited for James to untangle her. Definitely, that was it. Not their mutual closeness or how the snarl of zipper and hair gave James a wonderful chance to show off the deftness of his fingers. “Will you hurry up already?” she snapped before wincing, bracing herself for the painful yank of her hair that churlishness deserved.

1: which is worse, failing or never trying?
peter thinks failing is by far the worse option, but in the end, he’ll always be the one to try anyways. for the most part anyway. a huge part of him likes to challenge things, especially when it comes to people’s perceptions of himself. he’ll try anything to better what people think of him, & if it fails, he’ll try something else. he doesn’t realize it, but there isn’t much in life he regrets not doing ( he mostly regrets the things he did do ).
11: if we learn from our mistakes, why are we always so afraid to make a mistake?
i don’t think peter’s afraid to make mistakes. he kind of expects them. & then he learns from them, then often makes the same mistake again, although never on purpose.
12: what would you do differently if you knew nobody would judge you
peter would be more confident. he wouldn’t be timid, & certainly not so self-conscious. he would simply own his flaws rather than wallow in them. ultimately, he’d live his life more happily, & not fear people judging him for how he chooses to do that.

The truth is that she doesn’t believe it, not really. James Potter is many things, but a blood purist is not one of them. She has put him in detention for more pranks than she can count, and some of them have been downright unfriendly; for all that she cannot help but like him, Minerva has thought over the years that James’s sense of justice towards those he dislikes can stray worryingly close to bullying - but this is not his style.

“No, I do not,” she agreed sharply, frowning down at the paper. “But I had to ask, Potter. This is a very serious problem.” Especially with the current climate - tensions rising, factions growing more and more divided even within the school, more attacks on Muggles and Muggle-borns in the papers every week.
“I don’t suppose you have any idea who might have been responsible?” Unfortunately, she’s sure that there are several students who harbor resentment towards James Potter and his friends for their behavior, especially the Slytherins, with whom they have never been friendly. Narrowing down the list of suspects might be more difficult than generating it.
