Method of Stamping Rotor and Stator Laminations
The process of stamping is utilized to produce rotor and stator laminations and integrate them into an electric motor. Machines now have the capability of producing these parts using a single piece of metal. In such cases, the rotor is fabricated using a piece of metal. The metal that is left over from the fabrication of the rotor is used to stamp the stator lamination. The result is that the teeth of the rotor and stator are interlocked. Hence, the design is such that the center bore of the rotor and stator counterbalance one another.
Lamination stamping presses are used to stamp the rotor and stator laminations. In the newer presses, there is a provision for the assembly of the machine and the motors. Thus, the final process of welding and external assimilation of all the parts is excluded. This creates a reinforced product, exhibiting a single structure.
A machine that has been fabricated using a single piece of metal displays structural integrity, which increases the life of the machine, and reduces its maintenance. Hence, rotor and stator laminations that have been seamlessly integrated into machines are greatly preferred.
