What is Aspec Stories and why did we make it?

Aspec Stories is an accessible and inclusive community blog that we created for people identifying on the asexual and/or aromantic spectrums (but people of all identities are more than welcome here!). Our goal with this blog is to help spread positivity and support for people within the aspec community by providing a space in which we can all share writing about aspec characters and experiences, which can otherwise be challenging to find.

All four of us mods identify as aspec ourselves, so we’re hoping that this will become a community space for us just as much as for other aspec tumblr users! Between our frustration over the lack of aspec representation in popular media, our wish that the aspec rep that does exist was easier to find (and in many cases more respectful), and the many comments we found about aspec people wishing there were more aspec community spaces, the idea for this blog was born! So welcome to Aspec Stories—we’re so glad you’re here!!

**Note that our guidelines may change as we get a better feel for who follows our blog and what they want to write about**

Above all, we want this blog to be a safe and inclusive space for people of all ages, identities, and experiences. So here is a list of general community guidelines we created to help make Aspec Stories the welcoming space we all deserve:

This blog is a NO HATE ZONE. If you’re spreading hatred towards anyone via this blog (e.g. racism, ableism, discrimination towards any members of the LGBTQIA+ community, etc.) we will send you a warning. If you do so again, we’ll block you. We reserve the right to block you immediately for spreading hatred, as well.

This blog is also a NO DISCOURSE ZONE. We’re real tired of discourse about aspec people—we wanna read cool stories instead! If you try to start aspec discourse (or discourse about anything, really) we’ll give you a warning. Keep trying and we’ll block you. And again, we reserve the right to block you immediately for starting discourse on or about our blog.

Don’t give our submission authors unsolicited advice or criticism about their works! It feels really crappy to put a lot of work into something, work up the guts to share it with strangers, and immediately receive unwanted critical comments about it. If an author would like advice or constructive criticism on their writing, they can openly communicate that with our followers. Otherwise, positive comments only, please!

Credit is always important!!! Do NOT repost people’s work or ideas without their explicit permission!!! Reblogs are totally cool, as long as you don’t alter or remove anything from the original post. Spread the aspec inclusion and support—just remember to give credit where it is due!

Please respect fictional characters! They may be fictional, but they represent real, actual people. Fictional characters can’t give consent for what you write about them—if you feel that a character wouldn’t do or say something, please don’t force them to do or say it.

For the sake of accountability, we mods will always sign the things we post within the tags. Visit the “Other tags we use on the blog” section of the “Our tags” page to see the tags we mods will sign posts with. Please contact us (via direct message or ask) if you feel that we’ve posted something that violates our blog’s policies.

*To clarify on the starred topics: When we say “explicit” we mean “writing (or art) that shows said topic happening.” Topics such as abuse, self-harm, etc. may be present in posts on our blog, but only indirectly or in mention. For example: we will not allow an explicitly shown or described (NSFW) sex scene, but if characters in a story are talking about their relationships with sex without getting into NSFW detail that’s totally fine (we’ll just tag it as a content warning). Please contact us if you have any questions about this!

With requests always be sure to check my pinned post. As a general rule I run events with specific parameters. If you're unsure of the parameters you can always ask or DM, I will clarify anything without aggravation or anger, I promise. ❤️

You do not have to pretend to love my work if you're coming into an event new! But please do humor me with a please or thank you somewhere in your request, it makes me feel warm.

Currently I only write for One Piece I generally only write x Reader or Reader Inserts, but I can write OCs or Canon x Canon. I can write sfw but I generally don't.

I'll write for any One Piece character, but I have historically been not good at a few from a romantic standpoint: Luffy | Franky | Akainu | (Most Marines save Smoker, honestly)

I won't turn down requests with these characters, but know it might not be up to my usual standard.

Tips for asking for a reader-type!

Cis!Fem - afab, uses she/her - doesn't have to be feminine or effeminate. Cis!Masc - amab, uses he/him - doesn't have to be masculine. afab - has a vagina, doesn't typically use she/her, may use any other combination of pronouns and expressions. amab - has a penis, doesn't typically use he/him, may use any other combination of pronouns and expressions. Transmasc - afab, genitalia, pronouns, expression variable. Transfem - amab, genitalia, pronouns, expression variable. Gender Neutral - no descriptions pertaining to gender including genitalia.

REALLY IMPORTANT NOTE: Gender, gender expression and everything gender-adjacent are variable, messy, and beautiful in reality land - my tips are specifically for tagging/writing/expectation purposes and will absolutely NOT cover all possible variations and experiences. It's important to not use them as some sort of end-all be-all guide.

Writing Prices:

All word counts are nebulous, I won’t stop a 500 word fic at word 500, and a 1,500 word fic might be 1,360 words. These are just guidelines for charge purposes.

-:- 500 words (Drabble-ish) – 10$ -:- Short and sweet, these include 1-3 characters max, and minimal setup. Good for first or final moments, or something with an open ending. Here there be head canons, I don’t often write this short.

-:- 1,000 words (Short One-Shot) – 20$ -:- Shorter, and maybe a little sweeter. Still solid for 1-3 characters, maybe 4 if it’s a single scene. Little more detail, little more action. A good number of Kinktober 2023 items hovered around here.

-:- 2,000-3,000 words (Longer One-Shot)  – 40$ -:- The average of most of my one shots, honestly. Plenty of room for some set up, a little world building, best kept to 1-2 characters, but if you’re not worried about the set up, you can certainly go closer to 4. Elevator Music falls into this category.

-:- 4,000+ (Longest One-Shot) - 60$ -:- Here there be dragons. My one-shots don’t normally break 5k as it is, but I got about 8k on one before I turned it into a multi-chapter story. But if you’re talking a lot of set up, or the inclusion of several characters, it’s not hard to hit this level of words. There’s room in this bad boy for several tropes and a lot of sex. >.> (this will never break 10k words) At almost 4k words, Magic Trick is the closest.

Multiple Chapters requests are done case by case. Estimates are going to be 40$ a chapter, since that’s the average length of most of my chapters for what I write, with a minimum of 120$.

Multiple chapter requests will not be done any faster than one chapter a month, and may take longer based on life circumstances.

3. I’ll give you the price, and you decide if you can afford it. ~ Currently I’m only accepting Ko-Fi for payments.

If ko-fi is a no go for you and you absolutely must have an alternative, we can talk. But please know the answer might be "no." T-T

Legal CYA stuff.

I won’t start on a piece until I’m paid, and have 30 calendar days to deliver from the time I’m paid.

Note: You can pre-pay monthly for something. Once the item(s) are paid in full, I'll begin the 30 day clock. Multi-chapter items, and wait list items are handled differently, and terms will be discussed and set prior. The timelines listed here will not override any custom agreements made.

If I can’t make the initial deadline we can talk about either an extension or I can refund you, and we can try again later.

Within 15 days of the time I’m paid you can request a cancellation and refund, but beyond that no refunds are issued unless I initiate it. You agree to this as part of the commission contract, I’m not going to fight about it. However, if the piece is done prior to the cancellation request, then no refund will be issued. (I’m just saying this to avoid giving someone a finished piece 3 days later and having them request a refund on day 14.)

Once the piece is done, small, editorial adjustments can be requested, but anything more than that *may* result in additional charges before the piece is released. I’m pretty flexible though, so don’t panic.

Understand that any story will have variables even within a given set of parameters, and what I write might not be 100% what you expected, but you’re paying for my time, and if you ask for a full re-write of something I won’t be bullied into doing that for free.

I highly recommend you read at least some of my works before commissioning me to get a feel for my vibe and style. If you don't like reading on Tumblr, I'm currently on Ao3 and Wattpad under the same user name of Quinloki.

Abuse of these terms, or scam-like behavior, will be dealt with on a case by case basis. Just don't be an ass, I don't want to deal with it.
