This is my starting point. The first stage is a delicate process. To put the gilded pieces in a box with a couple of hard boiled eggs. The sulphur will begin to slightly discolour the silver. This process will only work on genuine silver. Not on aluminium Dutch Metal Leaf. Then the colours in the patina will guide the decoration. In my mind I can already see it but I will allow myself to take detours. So I had a fun little commission this past week, this cute brooch which was an assignment that a lovely fashion student had to submit. The design belongs to @binaz_s and she requested colour instead of enamel. Also the brooch features coloured Cubic Zircons and pearls!
