Why do you think they changed the design of Bowser Jr's paintbrush so drastically and removed the E. Gadd logo? You can still see his logo on Kameks coffee mug in the Megaleg scene so he apparently still exists in this version of mario world. The only thing i could imagine is that its to make his design more in line with the Koopalings magic wands
I have two theories:
1. It’s Royal Koopa Culture to paste your own face on everything you own, and Junior wasn’t going to let someone else’s emblem tarnish what he intended to be his signature weapon.
2. They decided to model the paintbrush after its appearance in Bowser’s Fury since the movie contains a lot of nods to that game in particular.
In all fairness, the paintbrush does look pretty similar to how it appears in Fury… give or take a few extra details to make it a look little bit more high-tech.
