Yeah, I do see where you are coming from. (and I've read up to affc, and I do know the general shape of Jon's adwd arc, so you don't have to be too worried about spoiling things for me)
There are a lot of things that the show handles badly with regards to Jon and his narrative, and I am starting to see now that it's not entirely Kit's fault. You bring up a very good point about how the bulk of Jon's chapters are introspection, and that's the way in which the reader comes to understand Jon in the books, which is easy to do in a novel but markedly more difficult to pull off on screen, so I can forgive that of the show and of Kit. I never before factored in that, in the books, we have Jon's perspective and we see him how he sees himself, but in the show we see Jon from the outside, as other characters see him. I'll have to reconcile that in my head somehow when season 4 starts airing. And I mean, looking back, Kit does have a lot of moments in the show where he really does shine as Jon, and I do tend to overreact with my distaste for him.
I guess my main problem with Kit, before I had read the books, was that I found it really hard to care about Jon, and my very first instinct was to blame the actor, and I do see now that the way the show treats Jon has waaaaaaaaaaaay more to do with the writers than it does with Kit. And when I started reading the novels and started empathizing with Jon more, my problem with Kit was that he looked nothing like the Jon in the my head, which I guess further fueled my bad impression of him, which I see now is totally unfair to him. I mean, I would have preferred a better, younger unknown actor playing Jon in the show (this is another one of my complaints about the show that I won't get into right now, but I really do feel that Jon and Robb should have been cast closer to the age that they are supposed to be, even factoring in that the show has aged them up a few years to be around 17ish when the series opens), but I am actually quite excited about seeing how Kit will handle the rest of Jon's asos arc in season 4, but I am also quite frightened of the ways in which the show might muck it up again.
So yeah, long story short, I do see now that it isn't entirely Kit's fault and that he is doing the best that he can with the (usually sub-par) material that he's given.
And it's completely fine that you ranted about Jon Snow, I don't think enthusiasm about one's favourite character should be something to apologize for. : )
