The flyer had been pushed under the door of her shop. An educational event about an upcoming meteor shower and other planetary movements, with the promise of more than just local school teachers to explain things. An astrophysicist or two were supposed to be there as well.
Though Lilia was all too aware that these circles usually dismissed the concept of planets having influence over events, she knew better. Her own grandmother had worked with the planets and stars for her witchcraft, and maybe that was the reason she decided to go; a chance for a closer look at the things that had been so interconnected with a member of her long dead family, and maybe see others connecting with them too.
Except the event turned out to be embarrassingly empty. Was her door the only one that the leaflet had been shoved under?
Turning for one of the exits, Lilia stopped when she glimpsed a woman near one of the telescopes. Despite herself, Lilia felt her feet taking her over there without any conscious decision being made.
"You're one of the experts they hired," she said in greeting, knowing it was true. "I imagine they promised you a bigger crowd. Lilia Calderu," she introduced herself. "Receiver of one of the few flyers they managed to mail out."
