#startrek beyond

Spoilers for Star Trek Beyond.

So, you and your BFF hold positions on Starbase Yorktown. You’re walking to work with breakfast while they breakdown what went wrong in some famous battle from a couple hundred years ago. (There’re, like, twenty different people, a sales guy, and two Clintons and you’re so confused.)

Your BFF flinches, yanks out their hearing aids.

Then the Sky darkens with black smoke swarming outside the hull.

Which is in space.

There is /smoke. In /space.

And then the station starts blasting that Beastie Boys song at max volume.

Your BFF waves a hand in front of your face, queries.

Resisting the urge to shout (and stuff your hands in your ears), you say, “Loud. Music.”

They laugh--

The smoke bursts into flames.

In space.

Which is a vacuum.

Then there’s a hull breach.

Okay, that’s fine, there’re drills for this, your BFF drags you by the arm through the crowd--

An 100+ year old, long lost starship bursts through the hull.

(Did it just /fire on Yorktown? Did it just blast a hole through its own space station?)
