Suggestion Box - Starter Secondary Type Triangle
While we're working on creature basis for our Starters, there's one last thing to take care of, and that's the secondary types. For this region, I want to try an interesting approach to this aspect, which takes inspiration from some of the previous generation Starters.
In Diamond and Pearl, Torterra's Grass/Ground type is weak to Empoleon's Ice Beam, Empoleon's Water/Steel type is weak to Infernape's Close Combat, and Infernape's Fire/Fighting type is weak to Torterra's Earthquake.
In Black and White, something similar occurs - Samurott is weak to Emboar's Wild Charge, Serperior is weak to Samurott's Megahorn, and Emboar is weak to Serperior's Aqua Tail (though the latter can only be taught to the Regal Pokémon via TM).
And in X and Y, all three Starters are doubly weak to their elemental superior - Chesnaught (Grass/Fighting) < Delphox (Fire/Psychic) < Greninja (Water/Dark).
So, what I was thinking was, aside from the standard Grass/Fire/Water type triangle, our Starters could have a reversed type triangle with a similar principle. The Grass Starter's secondary type would hurt the Fire Starter, and the same goes for Water against Grass and Fire against Water.
So on that note, your task is to suggest secondary type triangles that could work for our Starters and their themes. You know the drill, the voting format is “G: [type], F: [type], W: [type].”
As a reminder, our Starter themes and type arrangement are as follows:
The Grass Starter will be a Terrestrial Herbivore with the theme of a Staff.
The Fire Starter will be an Aerial Omnivore with the theme of a Bow.
The Water Starter will be an Aquatic Carnivore with the theme of a Sword.
