Much to Bruce’s surprise, he starts to display superpowers at 45 years old. It all starts when he steps on shadow and falls through it into a dark pocket. This dark pocket leads to other shadows and allows him to teleport to other locations. Through trial and error as well as testing, Bruce discovers he always has had the ability to control and manipulate shadows - it’s the reason he’s able to blend into the night so well. However, the teleporting aspect of it is new and he struggles to control his shadow related superpowers. Just what else can he do with his powers? Only time will tell…  Please note that in this verse he is in denial for a long time about the fact he has superpowers and even when he stops denying he has superpowers, he doesn’t tell anyone because he wants to deal with it himself. Afterall he should be able to handle it himself - he’s helped train numerous superpowered people to control their powers so why can’t he do the same for himself? AKA he’s too stubborn and embarrassed to ask for help.
